iCARE funded to set up new day service for adults with autism

In 2019 one of our generous Donor Advised Funds supported Inishowen Children’s Autism Related Education (iCARE) through a grant of €36,000. This grant went towards a vital project to set up a new adult day service for those who are over 18 and have left school but don’t have somewhere suitable to go on a regular basis.

Galway Traveller Movement youth group

The project was funded by a €5,000 grant to Galway Arts Centre and saw young travellers work with different art forms and create a documentary based on young Traveller identity, confidence in the public sphere and the right to active citizenship. They also created artworks that explored the duality of youth Traveller identity such as animated postcards that highlighted some of the discrimination they face.

Increasing political visibility and participation among members of the Travelling community

The Community Foundation for Ireland are very pleased to announce that a grant of €7,500 which went to Minceirs Whiden, Ireland’s only all Traveller Forum has been put towards a national project on mobilising the Irish Traveller vote and increasing political visibility and participation among members of the Travelling community.
