Tina Roche will step down as our CEO in coming months

After 20 years of spearheading The Community Foundation for Ireland I have decided to step down in my capacity as CEO. I have led our organisations for the last 20 years and we now have a truly credible organisation together with a great team. I will still remain part of the team and will be working part time on strategic social grant making and advising donors on where their generous funding can create the most social impact and progress our society.

Bank of Ireland provides €1m in emergency funding for communities impacted by Covid-19

Bank of Ireland is donating €1 million in emergency funding to communities with urgent needs arising from the Covid-19 pandemic. In partnership with The Community Foundation for Ireland, the Bank is fast tracking €500,000 of the funds to 13 organisations that are working to support the immediate needs of vulnerable groups across the island of Ireland, north and south. This support is being delivered to projects which will support children and older people, domestic abuse, rural isolation, cancer support, mental health, and food distribution.

World Autism Day 2020

Since 2007, the 2nd of April has been commemorated as World Autism Awareness Day. Its aim was to celebrate those with autism and to raise awareness about the hurdles people with autism face. With the current Covid-19 pandemic, people with autism and their families will likely face even greater challenges due to disruption of routines and managing a lot of new changes in their environment. Covid19 has intensified the obstacles to participation and so greater patience and empathy is required.
