After 20 years of spearheading The Community Foundation for Ireland I have decided to step down in my capacity as CEO. I have led our organisations for the last 20 years and we now have a truly credible organisation together with a great team. I will still remain part of the team and will be working part time on strategic social grant making and advising donors on where their generous funding can create the most social impact and progress in our society.
We have amazing donors who are generous and strategic. It has given me great joy to be part of their philanthropic lives. I also know that we have some the best community and voluntary organisations who diligently and with great fortitude work to make Ireland a better place for all of us. In my 20 years we have funded thousands of organisations and I want to express my gratitude for their work and tireless commitment.
The staff who work and have worked for The Community Foundation for Ireland are among the most professional and hard working people that I have had the pleasure of working with. I know that they hold our values of equality, equity, justice, fairness and integrity in firm and robust hands. I thank them all for making our organisation a credible, trustworthy and socially progressive organisation. Finally can I thank the Board of the Community Foundation, our present Chairman, Mike Gaffney and the many past Chairpersons and board members without whom we wouldn’t be able to function at the high level we aspire to be at in Governance, Transparency and Efficiency.
We will keep you updated on who will take be the next CEO, leading our organisation as it continues to grow from strength to strength. If you would like to find out more information on the recruitment process for applying for the CEO role (which I highly recommend) please see the job description here.
