Supporting Children and Young People

With our donors and grantee partners we are working hard to ensure that children and young people.

Our efforts are offsetting the impact of Covid-19 and its restrictions, empowering a generation which has been born since the Good Friday Agreement and supporting young people who are passionate about climate action.

Our support for the Children's Rights Alliance allows for the development of an Annual Report Card which ensures that Governments are meeting the commitments they have made to children, young people and their families. Access the 2021 Report Card.

During the Pandemic with our donors we have provided essential support, including the digital know how to move health and support services online, access to artistic and therapeutic services for children with long term illnesses as well as the provision of laptops to those impacted by the digital divide.

Our donors are backing programmes which combat food poverty, youth mental health and isolation.

BYC, which provides comprehensive youth services to disadvantaged children and teens in the North East Inner City (NEIC) received funding from SMBC Aviation who hold a corporate Donor Advised Fund with us to undertake a transformational legacy project in its facility based in Dublin 1. SMBC Aviation Capital, will donate €710,000 to the initiative over a three year period. The corporate funding, officially announced by Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe TD at an event in BYC, is managed through The Community Foundation for Ireland. The funding will facilitate refurbishment works and the creation of a hub for restorative practice in Ireland.

  •  2,691 children and young adults are awaiting HSE’s Mental Health Services appointments and could be waiting from 3 to 18 months for an appointment.
  • The average weekly fee for full day care is €177.92.
