Covid-19 Response Fund first round grantees

In the fisrt round of our Covid-19 Response Fund open grant round €145,795 was awarded in 28 grants spread across 14 counties. This open grant round was open for a short period at the start of the month to provide support to smaller organisations. We hope to re-open this fund in the next few weeks once we have built up the donations to the fund. In tandem with these smaller grants our donors have been supporting larger and national organisations to help them in their efforts to ensure our most vulnerable communities are protected. 

Cavan:

Kilmore Quay Community Development Association - €2,478 - The immediate funding need will provide extra supports for meals on wheels service.

Clare:

Shannon Family Resource Centre- €3,000 - Shannon Family Resource Centre is putting various mechanisms in place, in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies, to respond to the needs of the community in whatever creative way possible.

Cork:

Together Razem Centre- €5,000 - Estimated 500 vulnerable Polish migrants with poor English will receive professional social welfare information online in Polish language and counselling sessions online for those in isolation.

Middle Parish Meals on Wheels- €3,500 - This grant will help the service to continue providing meals to the vulnerable.

Dublin:

Bluebell CDP- €3,678 - Collaborating with Alone to source and deliverer approximately 120 large hampers of staples, 160 hampers of fresh food and hundreds of fresh or frozen meals to the most vulnerable in our community and beyond where people are in need.

RAMS- €1,650 – This will assist members who are all cocooning, staying safe and staying in. All members are  at strain with additional heating, additional food purchases, extra lighting etc.

Dublin Christian Mission- €7,000 – This will help respond to the huge increase in the needs of all individuals, responding to the needs during the Covid-19, to increase services to a daily distribution of takeaway hot meals and various personal items.

Care Alliance Ireland- €10,000 -  This will go towards support costs, publishing and widely disseminating a resource relating to Family Carer Back up plans. They have set up a professionally moderated, national online family carer support group.

Sharing Point- €2,004 - This grant will help recoup loss in income due to COVID-19 as primary source of income has gone ie client fees.  This will privde free services (addiction support) throughout this period.

Donegal:

Comharchumann Forbartha & Fostaiocht Arainn Mhór- €1,200 – Volunteer run community centre usually dependent on fundraising events to provide their community and employment services.

LIFELINE (Inisowen)- €2,500 -  This grant will help provide support to women and children experiencing domestic violence at a time when incidents of this are on the rise.

Comharchumann Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair- €5,087 – This grant will enable them to continue providing  meals on wheels services to vulnerable people in the area.

Louth:

Connect Family Resource Centre- €3,000 - Providing food hampers.

Autism Support Louth & Meath- €8,887 – Support trained staff in place to contact our regular youth club members and their families to both provide support and activities through group video meetings and also individual contact. Also to provide families with information and support thus reducing stress, anxiety.

Leitrim:

Rossinver Community Development Company clg- €4,680 - Extra coordination hours for this service which has more than doubled in terms of what it is providing at present. 

Laois:

Laois Domestic Abuse Service- €5,000 – This will help support the increase in the intensity of the experience of domestic abuse during the Covid 19 outbreak which has been catastrophic; and the risk for women and children living with domestic abuse has increased.

Galway:

Domestic Violence Response- €4,111 – Cover costs of changes due to Covid -19. Clients are not able to avail of the range of face to face counselling, support and information services – these have moved online and by phone.

Helplink Mental Health- €6,000 -  Support to provide free counselling services. This will help operating costs.

East Galway & Midlands Cancer Support- €10,000 -  Support to keep the centre going due to loss of income.

Kerry:

Kerry Cancer Support Trust- €5,000 - Transport cots to support clients.

Our Lady of Lourdes Conference of St. Vincent De Paul- €10,000 -  Increased demands for meals on wheels for those cocooning under the present restrictions, increased demand for food, hampers, fuel in view of loss of employment, sickness and anxiety.

KNOCKNAGOSHEL OVER 55'S SOCIAL CLUB & WOMEN'S GROUP CLG- €10,000 - Support for clients who are cocooning. 

Meath:

Men’s Aid Ireland- €9,600 - Psychotherapy Counselling for Men experencing domestic abuse during Covid19.
 

Offaly:

Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service- €4,320 - There been a a rise of 30% more calls to the service over the last three weeks which this grant will help maintain.

Offaly Traveller Movement- €5,000 – This will help support a national helpline established to provide information to Travellers on COVID 19 and what is emerging is food poverty and access to personal hygiene and toiletry supplies. 

Tipperary:

Clonmel/Nenagh Community Mothers Prog Joint Initiative- €5,000 - Provide food vouchers for vulnerable families, to include delivery charges and postage for 70 families, particularly those living in rural isolated areas. 

Waterford:

Tramore Community Care- €3,100 – This will help cover costs of changes in the service. 

Wexford:

Raheen Community Development Group- €5,000 - Funding for a free Community Counselling Service to provide counselling for issues such as Stress, anxiety, depression, personal and family support.
