Covid-19 Response Fund grantees

We were delighted to provide a further organisations grants through our Covid-19 Response Fund this week. 

Carlow

Carlow Women’s Aid- €6,000 – This will go towards furnishing emergency accommodation for one family during the pandemic and then two families post pandemic.

 

Clare

Irish Infant Sudden Death Association/First Light- €5,252 - Crisis intervention and extended video consultations with suddenly bereaved family members in the immediate aftermath of the death of their child. Psychoeducation for parents to help communicate with and support their surviving children and one to one counselling/psychotherapy for bereaved parents and adolescents.

 

Cork

OSSCork (Domestic Violence Information Resource Centre CLG)- €2,040 - The OSSCork aims to increase the scope and efficacy of its online facilities and to further maximise the ability of staff to work from home while still providing support over the helpline. The project proposes the purchase of two laptops (with associated software licenses), two mobile phones and a printer.

Skibbereen Geriatric Society- €8,000 - Due to the current Covid19 situation they have expanded our meals on wheels service, previously it was being offered 4 days per week, this has increased this to 6 days. 

Youth Work Ireland Cork- €4,150 - Working with young people remotely through zoom/skype/facebook/twitter etc.

 

Dublin

Dolphin House Community Development Association- €2,250 - Providing a nutritious meal and dessert for residents Monday to Saturday, along with social activities to combat loneliness and isolation.

A Lust For Life- €5,000 – Funding to implement  the School’s Wellbeing programme; a mental wellbeing and resilience programme created by psychologists, teachers, educational specialists and children. This ‘Netflix’ style platform enables children to access engaging mental wellbeing content in an accessible, fun and scalable way, using language and issues that resonate.

Balbriggan Travellers Project- €6,500 - In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Balbriggan Travellers Project has had to prioritise key areas of work to focus on. The government has identified Travellers as a priority group for COVID-19 testing

Beacon of Light Counselling Centre- €5,000 - The organisation is now down approximately 1,300-1,500 per week traded income from our client base. This income was used to subside the payments to core paid psychotherapists. 

Clondalkin Travellers Development Group- €10,000 - Address an immediate, real and present danger of food poverty by the most in need and vulnerable in the Traveller community. 

Making Connections- €5,000 - To adapt service provision to meet the evolving needs of older vulnerable people during COVID 19 and to support front line health care workers.

 

Kerry

AK Inspired CLG- €5,000 - Develop an online “Cocoon & Connect-Ability” Programme which will allow participants to keep active throughout the day and stay in touch, starving off the mental isolation as much as possible.

 

Louth

SOSAD Ireland- €5,000 - Ensuring continuation of services and also contribute to costs being incurred by the counsellors, who are volunteers. 

Drogheda River Rescue- €5,000 - Add another 2 vehicles to on the road for delivering Food, Medications, Prescriptions, vital supplies etc.

 

Limerick

Limerick Mental Health Association- €3,000 - This fund will be used to put the correct infrastructure in place to provide immediate support to these very vulnerable people now and lay plans for support in the immediate aftermath. 

 

Mayo

Claremorris Family Resource Centre- €2,500 - Reduce stress and financial constraints for families and individuals due to lack of income during Covid-19. outbreak. The delivery of a weekly food box to families will ease worry for families and individuals in knowing that a weekly delivery will be made and this will leave finances for other utility bills.

Advanced Recovery Mayo Ltd- €1,500 - Funding to purchase 3 laptops and 3 printers to allow our staff work from home and provide support to young people in Mayo.

Killala Community Centre- €5,000 - Funding a heated & insulated food transport box (oven) for our delivery van, with bio degradable food packaging.

 

Roscommon

Keadue Social Services- €4,067 - Providing vital daily meals to the most vulnerable including older people, those with underlying health issues, adults with disabilities and those severely impacted by Cocooning restrictions. 

Elphin Social Sevices- €5,000 - Upscale Meals on Wheels service. 

 

Tipperary

Millenium Family Resource Centre- €1,600 - Upscale Meals on Wheels service. 

 

Waterford

Samaratins Waterford and South East- €2,500 - Supporting those who are vulnerable to suicide and being there to support that group. Supporting all those who live on their own and are very isolated during this crisis with no one else to talk to.

 

Wicklow

Teen Turn- €5,500 - Purchasing of software, subscriptions, mobile phone credit, refurbished laptops & tablets, USBs, printing and postage/couriers.
